Wie ist es Dir mit dem Vorsatz der Nächstenliebe gegangen? War er schwierig oder gar unmöglich? Und wie reagierte der andere? War er irritiert, daß Du plötzlich Haß nicht mit Haß beantwortest? Zu mir hat einmal jemand gesagt: "Ein erfolgreicher Geschäftsmann kann doch gar nicht ehrlich sein." Ich bin definitiv nicht dieser Meinung! Was nützt es uns denn langfristig wenn wir durch Unehrlichkeit oder gar Betrug uns einen momentanen Vorteil ergaunern? Lies diese Bibelstelle hier und denke darüber nach. Denn was hülfe es dem Menschen, wenn er die ganze Welt gewönne, büßte aber seine Seele ein? Oder was kann der Mensch geben, damit er seine Seele wieder löse? Denn des Menschen Sohn wird kommen in der Herrlichkeit seines Vaters mit seinen Engeln; und alsdann wird er einem jeglichen vergelten nach seinem Tun. (Matthäus 16, 26 – 27)
Einerseits leben wir jetzt und wollen jetzt genießen. Das möglichst sofortige und genüßliche Stillen all unserer momentanen Bedürfnisse wird uns auch pausenlos von der Werbung nahegelegt. Andererseits aber werden wir ebenfalls dauernd aufgefordert, Vorsorge zu treffen, damit es uns nicht schlecht geht, falls doch irgendwann einmal etwas passiert. Wie ist es dabei mit der Vorsorge für unsere Seele? Willst Du warten, bis es zu spät ist? Was ist das Ziel Deines Lebens? Auf was wartest Du? Denke einmal über folgendes nach: Warum werden wir aufgefordert, durch Konsumgüter unsere Gelüste zu stillen? Warum werden wir aufgefordert, für dies und jenes Vorsorge zu treffen? Weil der Andere, der uns das anbietet, uns so sehr liebt? Denkst Du das wirklich? Ist es nicht eher so, daß der Andere dadurch ein gutes Geschäft mit Dir macht? Überdenke einmal all Deine diversen zwischenmenschlichen Kontakte. Was tun die Menschen, weil sich der Eine oder Andere einen Vorteil in irgendeiner Weise daraus erhofft, und was tut einer einzig und alleine deshalb, weil er Dich liebt und weil er uneigennützig etwas ausgerechnet für Dich tun möchte? Das ist Nächstenliebe. Es gibt jemanden, der Dich liebt und der völlig uneigennützig etwas für Dich getan hat. Weißt Du, wer das ist? Warte bis morgen.

How did you get along with your intention to love your neighbour? Had it been difficult or even impossible? And how did the other react? Had he been irritated that you suddenly did no more answer hatred to hatred? Once somebody said to me: "A successful businessman cannot possibly be honest." I definitely don’t share this opinion! On the long end what is the use of gaining some temporarily advantage by being dishonest or even by cheating? Read this passage from the Bible and reflect upon it: What will a man gain by winning the whole world, at the cost of his true self? Or what can he give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. (Matthew 16, 26 – 27) On the one hand we are living now, and we want to enjoy now. The commercials permanently suggest us to meet all our momentary desires immediately. On the other hand we are permanently advised to care for the future so that we will not get into any evil situation in case anything should happen. What precautionary measures do you adopt for your soul? Do you want to wait until it will be too late? What is the goal of your life? What are you waiting for? Reflect upon the following: Why do the commercials suggest us to meet our desires? Why do insurance representatives recommend us to take precaution? Because they love us that much? Do you really think so? Or is it rather that they are making a good business with you? Think of all your social relationships. What are men doing in order to gain this or that advantage, and what are they doing simply because they love you without having any profit from their actions, just because they want to do something especially for you? That would be loving the neighbour. There is somebody who loves you, and who did something especially for you without gaining any profit from it. Do you know who it is? Wait until tomorrow. |
