Jesus 12 Jahre alt / Jesus at the Age of 12

Jahr für Jahr gingen Joseph und Maria zum Passahfest nach Jerusalem. Als Jesus 12 Jahre alt war, nahmen sie ihn zum ersten Mal mit. Nach den Festtagen machte sich die Eltern wieder auf den Heimweg. Doch ohne daß sie es bemerkten, blieb Jesus in Jerusalem. Am ersten Tag ihrer Rückreise vermißten sie ihn nicht, da sie meinten, er befände sich bei Verwandten oder Bekannten. Als sie ihn jedoch nirgendwo fanden, kehrten sie besorgt zurück nach Jerusalem und suchten ihn überall.
Erst nach drei Tagen fanden sie ihn im Tempel. Er saß in der Mitte der Lehrer, hörte ihnen zu und stellte Fragen. Alle Zuhörer waren überaus erstaunt über sein Wissen und seine klugen Antworten.
Seine Eltern waren fassungslos, als sie ihn fanden, und seine Mutter sagte zu ihm: "Kind, warum hast du uns das angetan? Wir haben dich überall verzweifelt gesucht." Und er sagte zu ihnen: "Warum habt ihr mich gesucht? Wußtet ihr nicht, daß ich dort sein muß, wo mein Vater ist?" Und sie verstanden nicht, was er zu ihnen sagte.
Danach ging Jesus mit ihnen zurück nach Nazareth und war seinen Eltern untertan. Seine Mutter bewahrte alle seine Worte in ihrem Herzen. Jesus wuchs heran und erlangte zunehmend mehr Weisheit und Gnade bei Gott und den Menschen. (Lukas 2, Verse 42 - 52)		 Now to was the practice of his parents to go to Jerusalem every year for the Passover festival; and when he was twelve, they made the pilgrimage as usual. When the festival season was over and they started for home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not know of this; but thinking that he was with the party they journeyed on for a whole day, and only then did they begin looking for him among their friends and relations. As they could not find him they returned to Jerusalem to look for him; and after three days they found him sitting in the temple surrounded by the teachers, listening to them and putting questions; and all who heard him were amazed at his intelligence and the answers he gave. His parents were astonished to see him there, and his mother said to him, "My son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been searching for you in great anxiety." "what made you search?" he said, "Did you not know that I was bound to be in my father's house? But they did not understand what he meant.
Then he went back with them to Nazareth, and continued to be under their authority; his mother treasured up all these things in her heart. As Jesus grew up he advanced in wisdom an in favour with God and men. (Luke 2, 41 - 52)
